The Oggi's Feast, originally uploaded by ra°.Located on the first floor of The Regent Hotel in Bukit Bintang, is fine dining Italian restaurant Oggi. What we had for our main course? Alaskan Crabs, Wagyu Beef, Surf & Turf and Live Lobster Thermidor. On the side we had freshly made mashed pototoes and spiced potato wedges.
All were cooked to perfection by resident executive chef, Roland Kaiser. The meals prepared were absolutely fantastic. Especially the Lobster thermidor. The lobster itself was fresh, live one in fact before it goes into the oven. Not too overpowering with the taste of cheese and cream, you get to enjoy the taste of the lobster meat.
The Alaskan Crab was totally new to me. It has a meaty texture and the combination of butter, garlic, spices, etc went really well with it. Do you know that Alaskan Crab fishing is considered to be one of the most dangerous jobs in North America? I mean just look at the crab. It's like a Monster! Here are some photos of it.
Wagyu beef is another favourite of mine. It is considered to be the most tendered, most succulent and tastiest meat in the world. Perfectly prepared at medium-rare (2 minutes a side) over the iron skillet served with onion rings and green salads. My knife just glides easily over the meat and I enjoyed every second of it the moment it enters my mouth.
